Testimonial from Jerry White, SFC (Retired) U.S. Army

JWhite-2My name is Jerry White, SFC (Retired) U.S. Army, 22 years plus. I started loosing my vision while on active duty, now I am legally blind.

I have been at the Blind Rehab Center (BRC) three times; 2008 for 9-weeks; 2013 for 9-weeks; and 2014 from 31 July through 20 November 2014.  At the BRC, you are treated with respect and like a person. There is nothing we can’t do as long as we try and they will teach you that. Because of vision lost, we can and we will.  Classes start at 8:00 A.M. and usually end at 3:00 P.M. with a 15 minute break between classes.

While there, they will teach you how to deal with your vision impairment, cooking, mobility, computers, iPhone use, and manual skills such as metal working, wood working and leather stitching.

Myself, I really enjoyed it all three times I was there and in the future will go back. Thank you for reading this and hope all will consider going there for their training.

God Bless,

Jerry White
