Last year, during my 2-months inpatient stay at the BRC, I observed why transportation support was needed and necessary for veterans. I was advised that many veterans desired to receive training; however, transportation funds were not available for travel to the BRC.
White Cane training at the blind rehabilitation center was key and essential for my health and quality of life.
At the BRC, you are treated with respect and like a person….they will teach you how to deal with your vision impairment, cooking, mobility, computers, iPhone use, and manual skills… I really enjoyed it all three times I was there and in the future will go back.
